# Codex

> Connect Codex to everydeck by asking Codex to set up the MCP server, sign in, restart and paste the setup sentence in a new chat.

## Connect

**1. Ask Codex to add everydeck**

Paste this into Codex in the folder of your app, with the address `https://app.everydeck.ai/mcp` (also shown on the setup page):

```text theme={null}
Set up the MCP server everydeck: Streamable HTTP, address <address from the setup page>, sign-in with OAuth. Then sign me in.
```

**2. Sign in**

Codex opens the sign-in in its own browser. Sign in to everydeck there and click **Allow**.

**3. Restart and open a new chat**

Restart Codex and open a new chat in this folder. The everydeck tools are only there after a restart, in a new chat.

**4. Paste the sentence**

Paste the sentence from the setup page into the new chat.

**Other way:** in Codex, go to **Settings › MCP servers › Add server**, choose **Streamable HTTP**, paste the address, save, restart and click **Authenticate**.

**Using the Codex CLI?** The setup page shows the two commands: `codex mcp add everydeck --url <address>` and `codex mcp login everydeck`.

## Model

everydeck was tested with GPT-6 Astra at medium reasoning. With another model the setup may leave parts out; everydeck shows you what is still open.
